Grok Video Generator is an independent web app for creating short AI videos from a written prompt or a single reference image. It accesses xAI's Grok Imagine API for text-to-video and image-to-video generation, but it is not an official xAI or X product, and you do not need an X account or X subscription to use it.

There are two video models to choose from. Grok Video starts from text alone and produces clips of 6 to 30 seconds. Grok Video 1.5 animates one uploaded reference image (JPG, PNG or WebP) into a clip of 1 to 15 seconds. Both output 480p or 720p video, and the settings panel lets you pick the aspect ratio and number of outputs. A separate Grok Image tool creates still images in 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 2:3 or 3:2.

If you would rather not write a prompt, trending effect templates such as Rain Dance, Beach Party, Pier at Sunset and Pumpkin Carving turn one or two photos into a ready-made video or image. A gallery of example results shows the exact prompt behind each one so you can copy and adapt it.

Pricing is credit-based and transparent: the generator shows the total cost before you submit, and credits for a failed task are returned automatically. New accounts get 20 trial credits on first login (free trial); after that, credits come from monthly or annual subscriptions or one-time credit packs that never expire. Paid generations carry no site watermark.

Typical uses include vertical clips for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, couple and friend videos for birthdays and anniversaries, cinematic B-roll for video edits, posters and illustrations, and seasonal photo effects. Sign in with Google or an email verification code; the interface is available in English and Chinese.
